The daycare centre emerged from the Winklerstraße crèche and the Hornmühlenweg kindergarten of the TU Bergakademie Freiberg. The conversion to a day care centre took place between November 1990 and August 1991, whereby the former four-group kindergarten and the eight-group crèche with a total of 122 children were restructured into a day care centre.
1994: Operating licence for the care of 18 crèche children and 34 kindergarten children
1999: Installation of a solar thermal system for water heating
2001: Capacity expansion to a total of 60 children
2002-2004: Refurbishment of the entire facility
- Modernisation of the exterior façade
- Modernisation of the interior
- Conversion to underfloor heating
- Renewal of the electrical system
- Renovation of the sanitary areas
- Extension to the former entrance area (creation of foyer)
2017-2018: Extension of the current crèche area
The refurbishment and extension of the daycare centre has provided both the children and the teaching staff with modern play, working and living conditions.
