In the mid-1990s, the daycare centre on Hornmühlenweg was threatened with closure. To counteract this, motivated parents and educational staff founded the "Villa Kunterbunt" e.V. association on 17 January 1995 and fought to preserve the facility. However, as the Studentenwerk Freiberg subsequently offered to run the day-care centre, the parents' association is now not a sponsor but a supporter of our day-care centre and is primarily dedicated to supporting tasks.
The "Villa Kunterbunt" e.V. association is a non-profit organisation and is denominationally and politically neutral. In keeping with the university environment of the daycare centre, it feels connected to students and their children.
The parents' association Villa Kunterbunt e.V. represents all parents and guardians with children at the daycare centre. The board of the association forms the parents' council. It is involved in the fulfilment of the daycare centre's tasks and is involved in all important decisions by the daycare centre management and the provider. It acts as an intermediary between parents and educational staff.
The association also organises events and finances play equipment and toys for the children. Membership of the association ensures participation in the daycare centre and makes an important contribution to the children.
